Workshops are a great way to get comfortable in front of groups

Once again, I’m continuing the theme of public speaking this week. I want to talk about workshops. Not attending one, but creating and running one!

Have you ever hosted or co-hosted a workshop? I’ve done it a few times during my career (even as a graduate student), and I’ve always enjoyed the experience.

They are another great way to become more comfortable presenting and speaking in front of groups. When you prepare well and have a solid plan for the event, most people get value out of them too.

I can hear some of you already saying, “But, I’m not an expert at anything! I have nothing to teach other people.”

Do you really think that all of the millions of workshops being taught this year are only hosted by experts? If the requirement to be a host was that you are THE world-renowned authority on the topic, 99% of the workshops around the world would vanish.
